9-Patch Puzzle Tester Quilts!

I'm so excited to share what my pattern testers came up with for their 9-Patch Puzzle Quilts!

Cindy at Live a Colorful Life tested the the pattern using solid (unpieced) blocks. She was so sweet to squeeze in my pattern testing among all of her other sewing! Cindy used the Quilt Blocks fabric line by Moda, and I really the results! The fabric gives the illusion of being pieced and the large, unpieced blocks really showcase the prints!

Watch out for more pictures on Cindy's blog soon!

My friend Meaghan from Seattle also pattern tested for me. I'm totally in love with the quilt that she created! Meaghan has a great eye for color, so I guess I shouldn't have been so blown away by her quilt!

Meaghan's 9-Patch Puzzle Quilt!

I think my favorite aspect of Meaghan's quilt is the floral print that she included! Her colors and fabric choices are so great!
Here is a close up of the prints that she used:

9-Patch Puzzle Quilt Pattern - For Sale Now!

I'm so excited to finish my second pattern!

9-patch puzzle pattern!

You may remember last year when I created this quilt for my good friend's daughter. Since then, I've had several requests for a pattern.

I wrote the pattern using a layer cake and included 2 design options:

Use the layer cakes to create modern 9-match blocks
Trim the layer cakes to size and use as is

I created this first quilt using 21 different solids (mostly Kona) for the blocks, 7 different neutrals for the borders, and the green and white stripe print:
Puzzle Me Not Quilt

Here's a detail shot (binding is Chicopee):

(This lucky quilt is one of the two that will be in the quilt show at QuiltCon in February!!)

This second quilt is an example of how the pattern comes together if you choose not to piece the modern 9-patch blocks, but rather use the layer cake sheets trimmed to size (fabric is Lucy's Crab Shack):

The details:

The layout is deceivingly simple to create, and comes together very quickly!

The pattern includes detailed instructions and step-by-step illustrations for cutting, piecing the blocks, and creating the quilt top.

Finished quilt size is 64" x 72"

The pattern is listed for sale here in my Etsy shop and also here on Craftsy!

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding the pattern!

I'll post more about each of these quilts in a few days. I also want to share the amazing work done by my pattern testers - more to come!

Market Square Tote Pattern!

Market Square Tote!

Last summer I sewed up this tote bag, which I still use every day!

Echino tote

My blog post about the bag brought in a ton of positive feedback, and even a custom bag order:

Custom Diaper Bag

With a little more free time now that Addy is in school, and lots of support from some great friends, I finally have the pattern ready for purchase!  You can find it here, in my Etsy shop.

Yellow Tote NY Tote

The pattern includes:
Tips for sewing with laminates
Detailed instructions with color photos for every step, including an interior zip pocket and a sew-in magnetic snap closure
No pattern pieces! All pieces can be cut with a rotary cutter, ruler and mat!

Striped tote FMF Tote

The bag includes a large exterior split pocket, which is a great place to showcase a fun fabric.
The 28" straps are long enough to easily carry the tote on your shoulder.
The accent panels along the bottom of the bag not only add personality, but also durability. Laminate fabric is a great choice for easy clean-up!
Inside, the tote has a large zip pocket. It is so easy to install, and a great detail in a bag.

Beat the heat without sweating it!

I'm really picky about my water bottles.  I prefer plastic, spill resistant, with a straw.  Until Camelbak came out with their Better Bottle, I thought I'd never find a bottle to fit my needs.  But once I tried it, I was hooked!  I could fill the bottle with ice water and toss it onto the passenger seat of my car without worrying about any spills.  I can also take a drink while I'm driving without the distraction of trying to keep my water from ending up in my lap.  And it's dishwasher safe!  Finally, the nearly perfect water bottle.

Yes, it's nearly perfect.  What could I possibly dislike about it now?  Bottle sweat.  Yep, I'm seriously that picky.

Rather than search for an insulated bottle that fits all of my other needs, I created a water bottle cozie!  Not only does it keep my bottle from sweating all over, but it helps to keep my drink cool for longer. Plus it just looks cute. ;)

I took my bottle cozie for a test run before making a smaller version for the kid-size bottles.  Once I knew that I liked my design, I created one for Addy's bottle, too.

The large cozie fits the 750ml Camelbak Better Bottle perfectly.  My husband uses the 1L Better Bottle, and the cozie is a tad bit too small for his bottle.

The small cozie fits both the Camelbak Kids Bottles and the Nalgene Kids Grip-n-Gulp.

The small and large cozies are now listed in the shop.  If you have a custom request, please contact me!  I can create a cozie in nearly any size, color or pattern to fit your needs.
